LaRae Stevens
LaRae is a convert to Catholicism. At the age of 9 she had a longing to be a nun, but settled on a joy to be a missionary because she wasn’t Catholic. After joining the Church she began pursuing that dream of being a contemplative nun, only to be sidelined when Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) took over her spine making walking, standing, and kneeling almost impossible. This turn led her to taking private vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience to the Lord on the feast of Mary Magdalene, 22 July 2024. By June 2025 all medical options had been exhausted to bring relief from AS. When the Lord called her to go to Lourdes she went with little expectation of a miracle. While in Lourdes she experienced relief from the pain of the disease; going from being able to stand for less than 10 minutes to standing for hours on end; walking less than 2,000 steps a day to over a mile and a half in one go and still being able to function the rest of the day.
After receiving this healing she traveled to the tomb of Mary Magdalene where she received a call to bring encouragement, joy, and help to priests and religious; bringing peace and comfort to those who carry the heart of Christ with them each day to their congregations; serving them as the Magdalene served our Lord, Jesus Christ. From there, Servants of the Eucharistic Sacrifice was born.
Fr. Peter Wigton
Fr. Peter Wigton is a priest of the Diocese of Gaylord, currently living and serving at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Charlevoix and at Holy Cross Parish on Beaver Island. He has an M.Div and a M.A. in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical College Josephinum, and an S.T.B. from the Lateran University in Rome. Fr. Peter is driven by desire to see the Gospel come fully alive and to see God’s people experience the joy of being filled with the Holy Spirit.
Entering his 14th year of the priesthood in 2026, Fr. Peter has begun to have a desire to see Priests supporting other Priests, a gift he saw grow from his own priestly fraternity in the Diocese where he serves. He wanted it to grow even wider. Submitting that to the Lord, Fr. Peter began to have a vision for the Disciples of St. John. This is Fr. Peter’s main focus in the Servants of the Eucharistic Sacrifice ministry: creating a place of prayer and adoration FOR Priests, BY Priests.
The Disciples of St. John Mission Statement:
The Disciples of St. John is a world wide community of priests who desire to grow in intimacy with Jesus and to honor His priesthood through adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We seek to adore the Lord on behalf of all our brother priests around world advocating for strength in battle, holiness of life, and fidelity to Christ’s priestly and Eucharistic heart.
